My Fireplace

This is my fireplace.........I don't have a real fireplace so I use the top of my bookcase and my collection of candle holders for my fireplace. On days when it's cold outside or I just want to feel wintery this is what I do. It is already 76 degrees outside and it is only 9:00 in the morning so...... not today. In Southern California we don't have nice winters. I wish I lived somewhere where it snowed a little. It would be so nice to actually have seasons. I have always lived here so this is all I know. I get a little envious when I hear people complain about the cold...... but maybe I would not like it so much either.

Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog. I don't have a fireplace either but since I live in in a suburb north west of Chicago I enjoy the changing of the seasons.

I haven't tried lighting multiple candles to simulate a warm fire. I'll have to try that using the top of my piano. :>)

Ooh that looks very cozy! I have a firepalace with gas logs. It's very cozy looking but does not give off heat.I'm trying to convince my husband to take out the gas logs and pipe ad then we could burn the real wood. We shall see.... Anyways I love the look you have! It's very pretty!

Oh how pretty with all the lights off, good idea. That's a lovely way to spend a winter's evening indoors. Jen

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog. I love the idea of all of the candles to simulate a fireplace. What a romantic idea! I live on the East Coast, in North Carolina, where we aren't supposed to have snow, but certainly did last week! I have an old home built in 1890 with four fireplaces, two of which are working and have gas logs, so it wonderful when it does get cold to be able to use them!

Thanks so much for following my blog. I love your wonderful victorian creations! Mimi

I admire the romantic look you created in your home! It's a great idea to make your own fireplace-wish I'd thought of doing something like that at our first home-a fireplace was on my must have list when we decided to move from there.

I live in southwest Ohio and usually enjoy all the seasons ~ I just prefer the warmer seasons.

I don't have a fireplace either, but after this ice storm is over, I am getting a set of gas logs. If it were not for our neighbors, we would have been pop-cicles.

So warm and cozy. I love your candleholders. You have quite a collection. Believe me when I tell you that we have always lived in a snow belt somewhere until 3 years ago when we move to Texas. It gets extremely hot in the summer here and very few days in the winter where it is below freezing. I have to say, I don't miss snow or freezing temperatures and the heat feels mighty nice on my old bones. LOL

I love your faux fireplace...great idea. I live in Texas and we have season changes. I don't have a fireplace but I have a vintage mantle in my family room. I am going to copy you and put my collection of candle holders on top of the mantle and light them up next time it gets cold here!

Thank you for following my blog! I added you to mine also.
Your 'fireplace' is very pretty and romantic looking. It does remind me of a warm fireplace on a cold wintry night. I live in Montana, so we do get quite a bit of snow, but sometimes I wish for the warm California weather!
I look forward to following your blog,

Believe me Lady, If you lived in the cold you would want to be where it is warm. The older I get the less I like the snow. Will send to to you special delivery,
watch for it.

Oooooo I think it's Bea~U~tiful! I live in Texas, so it's usually hot here, Spring and Fall is always nice, but I could do without the Texas heat! We might get a day or two of snow, but thats about it :(
