Lexi 1st Birthday

My little puppy Lexi had her 1st birthday yesterday. She is a pretty big puppy now at 65 pounds.
I made her this black dress for her birthday because you just can't get cute dresses that are Golden Retriever size. I also made her a pearl necklace and bracelets......she already had the bows for her hair. She doesn't seem to mind getting dressed up.......but I don't usually leave clothes on her very long.
This is her birthday cake I made for her. You can't tell from the picture but it is very tiny. The main ingredients are organic brown rice flour, peanut butter and carrots.......she really seem to loved it.....but she also eats dirt clods. It did smell pretty good though....I didn't try it. It has cream cheese for icing. That was my first try at piping.

OMG - my Dusty is now so jealous that he doesn't get fancy cakes - or outfits! - for his birthday.

I hope you're aware that you're raising the bar for us dog lovers!

How much fun is THAT????? Love your little cake, where did you find the recipe? I'm feeling bad now for not hosting a Bday party for my Golden.....I should have least sculpted his food into some fun shape!

And why don't they make frou-frou for BIG dogs,,what is up with that?

Thanks for sharing!

Happy Belated Birthday to Lexi!

I know what you mean about having to make costumes. My chihuahua is so little most stores don't carry her size, so I make or alter almost everything. Lexi's outfit turned out very pretty.

Looks like she had a great day. She needed my dachshunds to help her with her present. We wrap gifts at Christmas and one of our dogs gets her present open in seconds then "helps" (steals) the other dogs open theirs.

But people like me and you don't look crazy doing these things.....do we? :D
