Lexi ~ Christmas 2010

This is Lexi.....almost 2 years old now. Taking a little nap by the Christmas Tree. We had to put a gate around the tree again this year because she still likes to chew on anything she can get her paws on. It has been raining here for days so she hasn't had a walk in a while ............good thing she likes to nap.

Lexi 1st Birthday

My little puppy Lexi had her 1st birthday yesterday. She is a pretty big puppy now at 65 pounds.

I made her this black dress for her birthday because you just can't get cute dresses that are Golden Retriever size. I also made her a pearl necklace and bracelets......she already had the bows for her hair. She doesn't seem to mind getting dressed up.......but I don't usually leave clothes on her very long.
This is her birthday cake I made for her. You can't tell from the picture but it is very tiny. The main ingredients are organic brown rice flour, peanut butter and carrots.......she really seem to loved it.....but she also eats dirt clods. It did smell pretty good though....I didn't try it. It has cream cheese for icing. That was my first try at piping.

Newly Painted Green Office

This is my newly painted office. My home has been a taupe color for so long I decided it needed to have some color. I saw a picture in Country Living magazine with a pretty green living room...that's how I choose the color. It is pretty bright but I really like it.....almost my entire house will be this color except for bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a very happy color. My daughter thinks I am loosing it because I have had everything neutral for so long. I don't think my kids are crazy about the color. Oh well. Of coarse my accent colors are black and white and PINK. Green and pink look so good together.
My husband is putting new wood floors in our home..they are hickory. It will take a while because he is doing it all himself and he is doing all the painting too. My dog Lexi is modeling the floors, (she is now 10 months old and weighs 60 pounds). That is the real reason for the painting ....the new floors.

I found this cute little Christmas pick while I was out shopping today. A little white church birdhouse. I had not seen one with the faux icing on it before. The bead trim along the bottom is very cute too. And of coarse the glitter.....there must be glitter !

Fairy Land

My son and I went to a nursery today that specializes in "Fairy Land" planters. They have so many of them......I took pictures of more than you see here but the sun was so bright it washed them out. They have everything you need to make one (of coarse)...........it is all so cute. I think I am going to have to make some for my yard. I am a little worried about the dog eating the fairies though.
I have been wanting to make a little fairy garden in my backyard for a while now and I think this gave me the inspiration that I need.

This is their little Fairy Village. I don't know if I got the best angle but it was really cute.

This is one of my hand dyed bottle brush trees I have been working on. I know the tree is purple but the roses and sugarplums are pink so I thought it would qualify for Pink Saturday. I haven't got any of the pink ones done yet. I love the holidays and I think I could make Halloween and Christmas things all year long.

Halloween Altered Tin

This is my newest project I just finished. I used his little mermaid image that I created last Halloween. I love this image so I will probably use her every year. This is an Altoids tin. I love using these little tins because whatever you make with it is so small you can put it almost anywhere.

Christmas Ornament From Old Lamp Piece

I have so many old lamp parts and I was trying to think of something to do with them. I just love old lamp parts. Everywhere I go... garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets... anywhere....... if I see a lamp piece I have to get it. I love the ornate ones especially. I have a big tub of them. This is one of the things I can up with to make out of them...... a Christmas ornament. It looks like a big snowflake to me.

You would have to have a pretty strong tree because it is pretty heavy. I added some jewelry pieces to it....... the one in the middle fit perfectly.

I put crystals on the back so it looks almost as nice as the front.

"Boo Fairy" Shadow Box

My poor Lollishop has been empty for a while and I want to fill it up. It is hard to get a lot made with life being sooo busy...it seems like last summer I made so much. Beautiful Fabric Postcard

I received this beautiful fabric postcard in the mail last week. Black and white...my favorite. I had never seen a fabric postcard before.....it came in the mail just like a regular postcard.......I was amazed. The back looks like a normal postcard with stamps and she put it in a clear envelope. Soooo cute. It is from Marva from Purple Paint. I had sent her some sewing notions I had (from a prior post) found in a box that I got at a yard sale. They seemed kind of old and cute and I thought someone might like them. She has some other beautiful things on her blog and in her etsy shop.........go and check them out. Thank you Marva.

Saturday Yard Sale Finds

I had not been to yard sales in a while because I find too many things that I really like and my house gets too full. These are some of my finds. I saw these three teacups with pink roses and of coarse I had to have them, they were $5.00 for all three....not too bad.
This pretty plate with pink roses was a must for $1.00.
I love the edges on this glass plate. I was told it was pretty old but I don't know much about it. It was $2.00.
This platter/charger was new in the box for $2.00, I really like it in my kitchen.
I was told this little milk glass vase was very old and I think it is so pretty...I love milk glass. It was $2.00. The little teacup was $1.00 and the other little thing.... I don't know what it is but it has pink roses on it so I got it.... for .25 cents. It was another fun yard sale-ing day.

I feel like I'm still in Wonderland a little bit (from the Mad Tea Party) with my pics for Pink Saturday today.

My daughter brought me these macaroons in this pretty pink box from a French restaurant/market in Downtown LA called Bottega Louie. It sounds like a really nice place....I will have to go there sometime. The macaroons were so good...... except the grapefruit ones.

Too Many Peppers !

I was washing dishes this morning and I looked over to see this big pile bell peppers. My husband and son are always bringing them in from the garden but I didn't notice there were so many. I already used some of them to make fajitas this week so stuffed bell peppers were my next choice. I looked in my new Betty Crocker Cookbook and found no stuffed bell peppers, I know my old one had it. My next place to look is always the Foodnetwork.com. I found a really good recipe there from Emeril Lagasse called Mr. John's Meat Stuffed Bell Peppers. It was really easy and quick. Cooking is not my favorite thing so I only cook easy recipes. I used ground turkey instead of beef and pork..... because it's all I had.

They turned out really good.......my husband does not like ground turkey too much but I think he will like these. We seem to have a lot of lettuce in the garden too so I think some salad and garlic bread and we'll call it dinner.

Pink Saturday ~ I Need Exercise !

Because I turned 50 this year I went in for my 50 year overhaul (Dr. apt) this week. So many tests to take ! She was pretty happy with my health but she said more than one time "You need to exercise". Ok, Ok ....I get it.....I need to exercise. So with this on my mind this is what I came up with for Pink Saturday. I really like the pink boxing gloves because I do have a heavy bag I could be punching. I would like to do yoga too and I love that mat. New workout shoes always put me in the mood to exercise. Also I do have a big puppy that needs a lot of walks.

I am going to start next week for sure. Happy Pink Saturday !

New Halloween "Magic" Shadow Box

This is my new shadow box I have been working on called "Magic". I love Halloween and Christmas and I am always excited to start making things for the Holidays. It is never too early for me. This is a 4"x4" wooden box with 1" wooden feet that I covered with black glitter. The "Magic" banner is made from little metal beads (I guess) shaped like little banners. I had a really hard time taking a picture of it. I tried many backgrounds but the black never looked right. I still feel like it looks a lot better in person than in the photo.

I found these old sewing notions (do they call them that anymore, I wasn't sure) in a box that I got at a yard sale a while back. I'm not even sure if they are that old but some of the packaging looks old. I really don't know what I would do with them...so if anyone is interested in having them just email me and I will send them to you. I just hate to see something sit around my house if someone else might like it.

My son just went out and pick some squash for me. I didn't even know there were any that were ready to pick today, they grow so fast. I thought I would take a photo of it because it looked so pretty to me. I guess I know what vegetable we will be having for dinner tonight !

My Garden

This is one of my Sunflowers (not blooming yet), if you look closely you can see a little yellow and black bird sitting on what was a leaf. It looks like a wild Finch but I am not sure. There seem to be 2 of them and they are eating up the leaves of the Sunflowers and as I recall from last year they eat the Sunflowers after they bloom. I really don't mind because I like to feed the birds but now the leaves look really ugly. I didn't know that birds like to eat leaves......I can understand eating the seeds. The only times we see these birds are if we plant Sunflowers.
This is the chandelier that I got at a yard sale a while back for $1.00. I have enough of them in my house so I just put it in the garden.....I like it there (or was I just too tired to refurbish it?).

This year we planted a few varieties of tomatoes, red, yellow and green peppers, cucumbers, yellow squash, summer squash, zucchini, eggplant, basil, cilantro, peas, green beans, onions, carrots and one sad little watermelon plant. It is a little garden but we tried to get as much in it as we could. I planted Marigolds all around the edge of the garden because I heard they help keep some of the bad bugs away. So far the only things we have harvested are peppers and squash. I am waiting for the tomatoes because they are my favorite.
This is a little pot of Impatiens on the patio...it did look nice at one time but Lexi likes to eat them so there are just a few left. We put up a wire garden fence a few days after we got Lexi because the garden would be gone by now if we didn't.....she loves to eat anything she can get her paws on.

I went to a Craft Show tonight called Stock 'n Stuffers. They have it here 4 times a year. They hold it where ever there is an empty store..it lasts for 4 days. I will probably go again before it's gone...just to see if I missed anything. One of the things that I got is a black tutu.......you don't see many black tutus. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it (I thought maybe for the puppy when she gets bigger) but I ended up putting it on my lampshade. I got this lamp at a vintage store and I just love it. This lamp is right next to a big black and white canvas of Audrey Hepburn so the tutu looks good there.

I also got these little 4th of July yard stakes because I always like some holiday stuff on my front porch and for some reason I don't have any outside decorations. I will have to find some more things but this is a good start. My husband thinks it is too early to put it out but I am good with it. School gets out here on June 17th so it will be July before you know it. I also got some wonderful English Toffee.....it's gone already.

Little Theatre.....Work in Progress !

It all started with this little thrift store find and and empty can of fair trade cocoa.
This is a peek at my latest work in progress. I kind of borrowed this idea for a sneak peek from Tristan at Enchanted Revelry. I was planning on doing a work in progress post and then I saw his sneak peak post and knew it was a good idea. I have not posted in so long because my creative juices have not been flowing much lately. (A lot of energy goes into caring for a puppy...and I think our little girl has doubled in size since we got her.) I originally started this project about a month ago, but have really only been working on it for a week now.
I have changed the colors several times and I am still not sure who will be in the theatre, I was going to use the little girl you see here......... but maybe not. So far I have applied some ivory damask fabric to the inside and outside. I added vintage lace to the inside top and sides and the outside bottom edge.

I glued crystal/silver color beads to the top of the lace on the outside. I really like how these beads sparkle. The curtains are from a vintage napkin that I dyed pink. They had to be sewn on....... so that I won't change. I put grommets in the sides of the theatre so I would have a place to tie the ribbons for the curtains (I have changed the ribbons three times). I'm not sure what I will do next but I'm sure glitter will be involved. I hope to finish it in the next week.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had a very nice day. To start my daughter made us a yummy breakfast, which is so nice because I am usually the only one that cooks. My husband and I worked in the garden in the morning.....it was so nice out. We had to put a fence around the garden because our little puppy Lexi has discovered it and she loves to dig. The middle of the day was the usual Sunday stuff.....laundry, dishes and house stuff. Later in the day we had our favorite Chinese food delivered....we don't go out much on holidays because it is so crowded everywhere. I just wanted to share the card my daughter made me because it is so pretty. She used a heart shaped box and inside was the message. She knows just what I like.

Pink Saturday~Lexi in her Pink Tutu

This is our (my son's) Golden Retriever puppy Lexi. She is 10 weeks old now. This is her first outfit. I couldn't find a puppy tutu so I got this in the toy department. This picture was taken as my son played at a friend's house because he would not allow this to happen if he was home. Her wardrobe will have to be hidden only to come out when my son is not home. I'm sure she will be too big soon for many of the little girly outfits. I will have to make some for her when that time comes, even though I have never seen a full grown Golden Retriever in a tutu.

Pink Saturday in Paris

We Love Lexi Too

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this but here goes. When we got home yesterday with Lucy we notice that she went potty a lot and she seemed to leak. Her bottom was all wet. When we got up this morning she was soaked so we called the breeder that we got her from. Long story somewhat shorter the breeder thought we should bring her back because she was unsure of her health. She didn't know if it was a bladder infection or something worse. The puppy was a little lethargic and her nose was warm and runny. Well we all already loved her and did not want to see her go but after much thought we decided to take her back. We were all very sad. My husband and I took her back today and we got her sister Lexi. She is just as sweet and lovable but it was still hard. Lexi has a lot more energy than her sister (probably because of Lucy not being well). She does not like the crate so much, she likes to stretch out on the nice cool floor. She does not like the pink tennis ball that Lucy liked either, she likes a little rope pull toy we got. We already love her...how can you not love a puppy.

We Love Lucy

We got a new puppy today!! Well... my son did, it is supposed to be his dog but we all love her. Her name is Lucy. She is an 8 week old Golden Retriever. She is so sweet...she just loves to be held. I forgot how much a puppy goes potty. Many, many times. It is almost 11:30 PM, she is up and still going potty. The breeder we got her from suggested that we get her a crate/kennel. She said her dogs love sleeping in their crates. We have never had one for any of our other dogs so we were not so sure about it. My husband decided we could try it and went and bought one. We put a comforter in it and a rag with her mom's scent on it and she went right in it and fell asleep. That was earlier...now that she's rested it's play time. So much for sleep tonight, but that's Ok because she is so darn cute.

Farmer's Market

We went to the Farmer's Market today and I remembered to bring my camera. The flowers were so beautiful, we got some pink ranaculas (not sure of the spelling of that).

We also got some berries and they are so good...strawberries, blackberries and raspberries !!!

We bought some scones with chocolate pieces and raspberries in them from this vender. We were going to save them for breakfast tomorrow morning to eat with our berries but we ate them for dessert tonight.

They have pony rides for the kids and many of the ponies had babies there with them, they were so little and cute. They also had this little camel there and he was really cute too but all of the sudden he started yelling....I don't know if he liked all of the people taking his picture.

Idea for new creation.....finally !!

Here we are half way through our spring break and I haven't made a thing. I wanted to make something new.... something I haven't made before. Nothing was inspiring me. I stopped by a local thrift store while I was out and about a couple weeks ago and I found this little silver thing that looked a little like a fountain. I didn't know what it was but for .75 cents I got it.

Then this morning I was going to throw away this can and all of the sudden it popped in my head that it was about the same size as my little thrift store find. It was a perfect fit. It looks like it will make a nice little theatre. I can't wait to get started............finally !!

I was out shopping for goodies to fill Easter baskets today and I found a few goodies for myself. I was at Walmart looking at all the toys and I saw this Barbie case. It is a fiftieth anniversary case. I had one similar to it when I was a child......so of coarse I had to have it. I will put my Peek-a-boo Barbies in it. I'm sure they will love it. The pink foil wrapped bunny and the fairy bunny were so cute......... Then I went to Borders to check and see if they had "Marie".....and they did....I was so excited. I have not even opened it yet. I am going to wait until later when I can sit and relax and thoroughly enjoy it.

Be An Angel ~ Share Your Cupcake

This is my latest creation in my shop. I haven't made much lately , I have been taking a little break. I have not even planned Easter dinner yet. I need to do that today. I also have a couple of Easter baskets that need filling. We have been working on our vegetable garden the last few weekends (mostly my husband). We doubled the size of it this year so we had to remove some grass. It's looking pretty nice so far. We should have a lot of veggies this summer (and some bananas and strawberries too). We are planning on getting a puppy for my son soon and I hope she won't like to dig in the garden. We had a dog one time that loved to dig. Our old girl (she is 17 years old) we have now doesn't care about digging. She just likes to eat and sleep.

I saw this advertised in last Sunday's newspaper from The Ashton-Drake Galleries and I thought she was so cute. I don't even collect dolls (I did a long time ago) and I wanted her. Report card day is always exciting for him. Today is the awards ceremony and he really likes that. I love this black and white pattern that they have called Courtly Check. I get their catalogs in the mail and I love to look but most items are too expensive for me. I just look and dream.

Make a Wish Fairy Block

This is my newest creation. I am kind of stuck on these blocks right now because they are so much fun to make. Usually I make shadow boxes. I used this little fairy image again (also in the wall plaque below) because she is my favorite. I especially like this one because I got to use the drill press again to put holes in the wooden flourishes in the background and then nail them on. I did it late at night so it was a little too loud. Luckily I did not wake anyone up not even our dog.

I am showing aprons today because I love aprons and I wear one every day. I don't know anyone else personally that wears aprons. I usually get all wet when I am washing dishes and I always seem to drop something on my clothes when I am cooking. I guess I am a little messy in the kitchen. They send free sample pages of their books out once a week in an email. I have gotten so much nice clip art from them for free. I have always wanted to go to Paris........... flea markets. I know there are museums and many sights to see but I want to look for junk or treasures.
Such a romantic notion looking for treasures in Paris.
We hope to go there one day but I am afraid to fly.......so I have to work on that. We took a vacation last summer and flew but it was really hard to do. I think we will just stay home this summer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day ! We really don't do much to celebrate this day but we do get green bagels in the morning. We started this tradition a few years ago and my family loves it. This morning the bagels were nice and warm. We put a little butter on them and grill them in the frying pan for a minute or two. Then we add the green cream cheese and it tastes wonderful.

This is my latest creation. I had the teacup and the base done for a while but I could not find the right girl for the top. I like this image because the girl's skirt matches the base and she is sitting so cute. I love teacups and going to tea. There don't seem to be as many teahouses around as there were a few years ago. I have a teacup collection that I love (mostly pink) but I stopped collecting because I ran out of space. My mom had a teacup collection when I was a child.......... part of my collection is from her. She passed away three years ago so those cups are very special to me.

Saturday Yard Sale Finds

I think this is one of the best yard sale days I have ever had. I could not put it all in the photos but I put in my favorite things. It was so cold out when I left the house this morning I wanted to turn around and go back to bed. I am so glad I didn't. This chandelier is a little dirty and old but I love fixing up old chandeliers. I'm sure my husband will rewire it for me and with a little elbow grease it will be lovely. Only $1.00. I almost fainted when the gentleman told me the price. He acted like he was asking too much for it.
I love glassware. The little round pink bowl/vase in front is Staffordshire Bone china from England. Not that I really care but the color is so soft and pretty. The young man that was selling it wanted $10.00 for it because of the stamp on the bottom but I paid $2.00. I don't know what the rest of it is but once I wash it......it will sparkle and I love sparkle.
I found some beautiful lace (I think vintage) and a cute piece of pink fabric with flowers and music notes on it. I think it might have been $1.00 for all of it.
I have always loved copper pans but I don't have any. I found these today. I was told they are solid copper but they are silver color inside so I don't know. They are very, very heavy. With a little copper cleaner they will look nice somewhere. Both for $5.00.
The same lovely lady with the lace had this old sheet music. The covers are pretty and I like to use the sheet music in my artwork. She charged me either .25 or .50 a piece, a bargain.

I might skip yard sales next Saturday though...... my husband thinks I am getting too much stuff again (which I am). Unless I can find corners to tuck it in during the week so it is not such a mess. It's just that it is so hard to pass up these great deals !

Happy Birthday Barbie! I know I'm a little late on this but......... since Barbie and I are the same age this year I think it's O.K. I Love this Barbie Volkswagen. It is so cute and I love the vanity in the trunk. I love any pink car. You don't see many around except for the Mary Kay cars and they are really light (almost white) pink. I just thought I'd share this in case anyone did not see it.

Farmers Market

The Farmer's Market by our house is held on Tuesday. It was so nice out today I thought I would go. All the produce looked so beautiful I wish I had my camera with me...... next time. They said the strawberries are grown locally with no pesticides and they looked so good I got some. They taste wonderful.......big, juicy and sweet. There is a vender there with beautiful flowers, some I have never seen before. I always like the wheat pita bread, hummus and fresh Tzaziki. If you've never had Tzaziki it is made with yogurt, cucumbers, garlic and dill. We dip our pita bread in it and it's so good. I also got some Sweet White Corn, Poblano and Cheese Tamales. I think this will be our dinner for tonight.

My Weekend

This weekend I did not go to any garage sales or do much crafting. I cleaned. I was getting so much stuff in the office it was hard to walk around. I would like to say that I have a nice big studio, but no........ I have part of our office (well 3/4 of it) that I share with all of my family. The top of my shelves (pictured) were stacked high with ................stuff. The shelves in the picture are behind me to my right when I am at my work table, so I just roll backwards when I need something. My husband put up some more wire shelves out in the garage so I just moved things out there.
These are some bottle brush trees I bought recently. Somehow this is the first year I have notice pink or white bottle brush trees. Where have I been ! I do have some green ones in our little Christmas village but those never did much for me. The first one I ever notice and bought was the white one in the center of the picture below with the cute little girl next to it. I bought it from Eunice at The little Things, check out her blog she makes some really cute treasures. I thought I would decorate some of the trees so I would be ready for next Christmas. Well half way through I had a glitter emergency...........I ran out of my crystal glitter. I had to made a Michaels run and get some more ( I like Martha Stewart's crystal glitter). I covered the trees and their bases with glitter. I think I might have a glitter addiction (oh and a pearl addiction too). I will probably pack them up soon but for now they are staying out.

Desk Caddy

This is where I keep my glitter ..... in this little desk caddy. It is an old wooden box I have had with me for years. I thought it was in my way so I altered it to sell. Then I talked myself out of selling it, telling myself no one would buy it. So it sits on my table holding my glitter. I'm glad I kept it.

This is my latest creation. I have always like this image of a young girl and was happy to finally use it. I had so much fun making my "Garden Party" block that I did another garden theme. I just love these paper roses and I use them whenever I can. I got some chicken wire from Home Depot so I thought I would try some on a block. It was easier to work with than I though it would be.

I am a little behind on my blog because on Saturday I was uploading photos of my garage sale finds and somehow I deleted them and a few more. I have not had time to retake them. I have been busy at work and at my work table (with the dishes and laundry piling up). Hopefully I will never do that again.

Sleeping Beauty Ballet Theatre

I bought this Sleeping Beauty Ballet Theatre last week and it is so cute. It comes flat in a box like a book and then it opens up to a theatre. There are different backgrounds and performers that you can put in. Also a book and a CD. I added glitter to mine. I have it up in my office. My daughter showed it to me on Amazon and I had to have it. I put a link on the side of my blog if anyone wants to look at it.

French Fairy Shadow Box

This is my latest creation. I called her the French Fairy because her wings are from a map of Paris. The image is from http://www.divasdeste.com. I think she is very cute. It is one of those things I had half done for a long time. I love tulle and have been wanting to add it on a shadow box for a while now. It was a little bit of a struggle to get it on there, but I won. The shadow box and the top piece are both wood. My daughter wanted to keep her but she wants to keep everything that is black and white.

I thought this cute bunny pitcher would look so nice at Easter with some beautiful fresh flowers in it. Only $1.00.!!!!!
This heart shaped mirror with roses all around it is so pretty. It is about 12" x 12" and very heavy, I'm not sure what it is made of. I hope to find a place to hang it today. Only $5.00.
Barbie stuff !! I'm not sure why I need these things but they are so pink and little and cute.....I just had to have them. There is much more of it but this is all I could fit in the photo. Just $2.00 for a bag full of fun !!

Better Than Sex Cake !!!!

I'm sure you have all heard of this cake and probably made it.........it is so yummy (I wonder who named it). I think there are many variations on the recipe. I made it last night for a pot-luck at work today. Everyone seemed to really like it. The piece of cake in the picture is from the second cake I made to keep at home for my family. They don't like when I make something good and it leaves the house. My mom gave me the recipe she clipped out of a newspaper years ago. The recipe is below.......enjoy!

1-box devil's food cake mix

1-14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

1-16 oz jar caramel ice cream topping

1-container cool whip

6-Heath candy bars

Bake cake per directions on box.

Right after you take it out of the oven, take a butter knife (or anything) and poke holes all over the cake about 1" apart.

Pour the can of condensed milk and caramel topping all over the cake while it is still warm and it will absorb in. Also crush up 3 Heath bars and crumble over the top of the cake. These should melt a little. Put in the fridge overnight when cooled.

In the morning ice the cake with the whole container of cool whip and crush up the last 3 Heath bars and sprinkle on top of the cake.

Sorry this is not low calorie.............but it tastes wonderful.

Garden Party

I started this little Garden Party Block yesterday (I had already decoupaged the block) and I just could not stop until she was done because she is so cute and happy looking. I think I worked on it until midnight. I had a cute vintage wire piece that I nailed on the back of the block and that started it all. I have had this little wire piece for so long and I just wanted to use it somewhere and I thought it looked like a little garden fence.

A Few Little Things From My Home

I just wanted to share a few of the things in my home that I really like. My whole house would be pink and white if my husband was OK with it (too girly for him). It is taupe and white with a little bit of pink here and there. Our bathroom will be pink someday...... we did buy the paint, I guess we are just waiting for inspiration. I am always on the look out for decorative items that are black and white (checks, stripes or polka dots) and pink of coarse.

Make a Wish Fairy

This is my latest creation I have been working on. It is the first wall plaque I have made. I have used this fairy image in two other pieces but I really like her so I used her again. I really have to try hard to use colors because I prefer neutrals and soft colors. I like the upholstery tacks because any time I can use tools it's more fun for me. 1~I have naturally curly hair (which I did not like when I was younger but I do now).

These are My Creative Blocks. I have a few more I am working on but these two got done first. They are just fun little blocks I thought people might like to give instead of a greeting card. I opened a store connected to my blog, it seemed like a good deal. I like it because the payment is through Paypal. I was trying to find somewhere that the fees weren't too high. I will still put some items in my Lollishop. Now I have to work harder to fill up my store.

My daughter made me some new buttons for my blog. I think they are really cute. I don't know how to use Photo Shop. I have the pink and white stripes on my business card so she uses them for most of my things. She is making me a new banner also.....I can't wait to see it.

My Little Dolls

These are my dolls from my childhood. I can't believe I still have them. I just turned 50 years old this month so these girls are pretty old.
This is a little dressing table from my childhood also. It had a mirror on it that I must have broken off because it has been this way for a long time.
These are my new dolls. They are Barbie Peek-A-Boo Petites. They remind me so much of my old dolls that I had to have them. They come in cute little cases as you can see in the pictures below. Some of your daughters probably have them. I know I am too old for dolls but they are so cute. I just keep them in a little suitcase in my room and take them out every once in a while to look at them or add a new one.

My Fireplace

This is my fireplace.........I don't have a real fireplace so I use the top of my bookcase and my collection of candle holders for my fireplace. On days when it's cold outside or I just want to feel wintery this is what I do. It is already 76 degrees outside and it is only 9:00 in the morning so...... not today. In Southern California we don't have nice winters. I wish I lived somewhere where it snowed a little. It would be so nice to actually have seasons. I have always lived here so this is all I know. I get a little envious when I hear people complain about the cold...... but maybe I would not like it so much either.

Birthday Crown

This is my daughter's Birthday crown. She was a Valentine's Day baby and will be 22 years old this year. I think we have had it for about 3 years now. It is made with wire so it will last for years. I need to figure out how I will decorate for her Birthday this year. She did such a beautiful job for my Birthday ! She wants it black, white and red this year. We both love black and white...... she just changes the color she wants with it every year. Black and white always makes it look so elegant. I can't wait to get started.

Valentine's Day

I finally got something done for Valentine's Day. I have 3 of these boxes but this is the only one I have done so far. I have so many things going at once, at least 10 half done projects. I keep thinking of new ideas and I can never wait to start them....... so my work table is over flowing.

I (my daughter) am working on my own web site but it is not done yet. I plan on having supplies for altered art, some of my own creations and some things my daughter and I did together for sale on it. We created a line of Christmas cards last year but it seemed like the fees were too high on the different sites to bother with. Hopefully we can sell them next year.

I found this at a thrift store a couple of days ago, I could not decide if I liked it or not. (Going to thrift stores is one of my favorite things to do). It is pretty big. It is about 13" high and 13"wide. It weighs a little over 2 lbs......I think it is ceramic. I am not sure where I would put something so large. Maybe by February I will find a place for it. Do you like?

My New Blog

I have wanted to start a blog for so long, I thought 2009 would be a good time. I'm not sure what I have to say and it is little scary writing things down but I really enjoy reading other people's blogs...............little bits of their lives, photos, creative thoughts and seeing all the beautiful things everyone makes. Today is my Birthday and it was a wonderful day. I spent the day with my husband and two kids....my favorite people. The photo above shows a little of the decorations that my daughter put up for me today. My dining room looked so beautiful......all white and pink(with a little aqua). With a lot of glitter and tulle, two of my favorite things. So here goes my foray into the world of blogging.
